prime rib feast reheating instructions

Helpful Tips:

Our prime rib container is not oven safe. Please remove from the container and transfer to an oven safe dish or a properly fitting sheet pan.

As with our side dishes, the containers are made of certified compost material and the tops are plant based. If using an oven, please remove the tops and transfer the contents to an oven safe pan.

If using a microwave, after removing the tops the container itself is microwave safe.

Grass Fed Prime Rib

Oven Method:

Preheat the oven to 325 F, transfer prime rib to an oven safe dish or roasting pan and cover with aluminum foil.

  • Please note that your prime rib is cooked rare so you can adjust it to the degree of doneness you desire.

  • Heat at 325F with convection air and aluminum foil on top for about 10-15 minutes.

  • If you have a probe thermometer, here is a guideline of your steaks internal temperature for doneness:

    • Rare: 120°F (49°C)

    • Medium Rare: 127°F (53°C)

    • Medium: 135°F-140°F (57°C-60°C)

    • Medium Well 140°F-145 (60°C-63°C)

(A reminder that still ovens, with no air fan for circulation, can take 15-20 min longer than a standard convection oven.)

  • A few minutes before removing from the oven, remove the foil covering and raise the temperature to 450° F to begin crisping the skin .

  • After removing from the oven, allow to rest for an additional 10-15 minutes to allow the juices and meat to rest prior to slicing.

Microwave Method:

  • It is best that the steak is whole while reheating, but if this is not possible, divide the steak into two parts and reheat separately.

  • Transfer to a  microwave safe dish.

  • Place in microwave and reheat on high for about 3 minutes each steak, watch for desired doneness as some microwaves heat faster than others.

  • If possible, you can sear the steak on a pan to give it a nice crust texture afterwards.

Beef au Jus- Grain Mustard

Stovetop

  • place the au jus in a heavy bottom 2 qt. saucepan, turn on to medium heat, heat slowly until slow simmering. Add in grain mustard if desired or serve it separately.

Microwave

  • Place the au jus in a microwave safe bowl, heat on high for about 3 minutes, depending on the power of your microwave, more minutes might be needed. Add in grain mustard if desired or serve it separately.

Chimichurri Sauce is served chilled; it is best to put right on top of the steak, to give it a little kick, or on the sides, but frankly, it can go on anything! (except the dessert of course).

Pan de Leche Rolls

Honey butter

Leave the honey butter at room temperature for about an hour to allow the butter to soften and become spreadable

Pan de leche rolls are excellent eaten at room temperature and can be left out for you to enjoy while you wait for your food to heat up. Otherwise, these are the reheating instructions:

Oven:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F, heat for about 4-8 minutes until bread is soft and toasty

Microwave:

  • Bread can be reheated in a microwave but only for a short period of time, if it is heated for too long, it can become stale and tough once it is cooled.

  • Only heat the amount of bread you intend to eat and reheat in small batches.

  • Heat on high for about 1-2 minutes until warm.

Apple-Huckleberry Pie

  • Store pie in the fridge until ready to be served. We recommend taking the pie out of the fridge about 10 min prior to serving and adding vanilla creme fraiche after the pie has been individually portioned.
